GanGan Melogy
$8,000.00
GanGan Melody captures the rhythmic pulse of Yoruba musical traditions through the depiction of two Ayan (drummer) youths poised with their talking drums (gangan). Dressed in matching Ankara wax-print garments patterned in emerald green, ochre, and deep blue, the musicians stand side-by-side against a cool, mottled celadon-turquoise background. Their solemn, focused expressions convey reverence for their craft, where every rhythmic strike communicates language, proverbs, and poetry. The tactile brushstrokes and rich tonal contrasts create a harmonious dialogue between sonic heritage and visual splendor.
