Agony And Ecstacy
$7,500.00
Agony and Ecstasy presents a visceral and poignant narrative centered on maternal devotion, daily labor, and the emotional dualities of womanhood. A market woman, clad in a saturated cerulean-blue blouse and patterned gold-and-black wrapper, tends attentively to a young child standing beside her. Her open mouth and intense expression capture an animated moment—a vocal command, a song, or the raw physical fatigue of a long market day—contrasted against the vulnerable, innocent posture of the child. Behind her, a receding row of women in traditional headwraps echoes the collective labor and shared experience of West African market life.
