Expectation
$6,000.00
Expectation is an expressive modernist portrait that bridges ancient mask forms with mid-century graphic abstraction. Dominated by an oversized circular head painted in ochre and sunlit amber, the figure's contemplative features—heavy-lidded eyes, defined nasal ridge, and down-turned mouth—are outlined in bold black contour lines. Linear hatchings score the cheeks and forehead, while sections of corrugated cardboard collage add tactile rhythm along the left jawline. The work captures a suspended moment of anticipation and internal dialogue.

Artist Statement
My compositions strip the human visage down to essential circular and linear forms reminiscent of indigenous mask traditions. Expectation reflects that quiet, tense space between waiting and realization, translating emotional longing into bold geometric structures and tactile planes.
