The composition is anchored by yellow commercial transit buses (danfos) navigating a sea of commuting pedestrians and street traders. Adewale employs an energetic technique where vehicles and people dissolve into thick wedges, dabs, and vertical drags of primary pigment, ochres, and chalky blues. The textured impasto turns the canvas into a tactile relief map of urban density, capturing the clamor, exhaust, heat, and communal vitality of everyday Lagos transit.

My work explores the urban landscape and the density of mega-cities, particularly the energy of Lagos. Using heavy, sculptural layers of paint that I carve, scrape, and re-apply, I document the vibrant chaos of transit hubs where individual identities coalesce into a singular, breathing communal pulse.
